The Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) process framework includes an explicit Transition phase – sometimes called a deployment phase, release phase, or hardening sprint – which is conducted after Construction. The primary purpose of this phase is to successfully deploy your solution into production (or the marketplace). For teams following DAD’s continuous delivery lifecycle the Transition “phase” will be a Transition “activity” on the order of minutes or hours (instead of days or weeks).
